An 81-year-old Mumbai man has approached Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking a CBI probe into a long-running property dispute involving 2,810 sq m of land in Bhayander East.

September 13, 2026: An 81-year-old Mira Road resident has approached Prime Minister Narendra Modi over a property dispute in Bhayander East that has remained unresolved for years.
Asgarali Vohra met Modi on September 8 and sought a CBI inquiry into the matter.
The two were reportedly classmates at BN School in Vadnagar, Gujarat.
Vohra said he had spent years approaching government offices and the police over the dispute.
At the centre of the case is around 2,810 square metres of land at Navghar in Bhayander East, which Vohra says he purchased through a registered agreement in 1989.
According to Vohra, the property was taken over in 2011. He has named Swayam Builders and Seven Eleven Constructions in connection with the dispute.
He has also alleged that documents relating to the property were forged and that the original owner was kept unaware of developments concerning the land.

Vohra further claimed that the plot was subsequently divided into two portions, with possession recorded in the names of the two builders.
The dispute remains before the courts.
The meeting with Modi has since prompted the local administration to take action. A hearing has been scheduled for September 16, with officials from both construction companies directed to appear.
Vohra has also alleged a connection between BJP MLA Narendra Mehta and Seven Eleven Constructions.
Police registered a case in 2015. Vohra said he continued to approach revenue officials, the municipal authorities and the police even after the case was registered.
He now hopes that his unusual meeting with his former schoolmate, Modi, will help move the long-running dispute towards a resolution.
The case has once again drawn attention to the continuing property disputes in the Mira-Bhayander region.
