An official reported on Tuesday that a 20-year-old man was pursued and shot by around five attackers on a crowded street close to a police outpost in the Mishrana area of Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh.

He stated that the young man, recognized as Amogh Seth, a resident of Seth Colony in Hathipur, was quickly taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

A bookstore worker, Aditya Kashyap, sustained an injury to his hand when the assailants fired shots as the young people sought refuge inside the store, according to police. He is reported to be out of peril.

They stated that the attackers left the location on two motorcycles following the event, which occurred on Monday evening.

Prashant Kumar, the Lucknow range Inspector General (IG), patrolled the city that day with Kheri Superintendent of Police (SP) Sankalp Sharma to assess the law and order situation prior to Holi and examined the crime scene.

Speaking to reporters, the IG stated, “Initial investigation shows that the deceased youth reportedly had an altercation with another individual, Anmol Puri Bala. A comprehensive inquiry will be conducted, and the suspect will be apprehended shortly.”

Kheri SP Sankalp Sharma mentioned that multiple teams have been established to pinpoint the offenders, and they are reviewing the CCTV footage.

The wounded book and stationery store worker, Aditya Kashyap, currently receiving treatment at the district hospital, stated that the young man entered the shop seeking refuge. Amogh stated that the attackers shot at him, during which he was also hit in the hand.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
