Princess Anne suffers minor head injuries; hospitalised
Princess Anne, King Charles’ younger sister, had minor injuries and a concussion after an incident on Sunday and is being treated in hospital as a precaution, according to Buckingham Palace. She is expected to recover well and quickly.
“Her royal highness is recovering well, is in a comfortable condition and is being kept in hospital as a precautionary measure for further observation,” a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said.
The incident occurred while the princess was walking within the estate’s protective perimeter, according to the British Press Association. Her medical team also stated that her head injuries were consistent with a hit from a horse’s head or legs, according to The Associated Press.

“The king has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery,” the Buckingham Palace statement said.
Who is Princess Anne?
Princess Anne, the second child and only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, was born at Clarence House in London.
Princess Anne, an experienced equestrian, started competing in horseback riding events at an early age. In 1971, she won the individual championship at the European Eventing Championship, and in 1976, she became the first member of the British Royal Family to compete in the Olympic Games, representing the British equestrian team in Montreal.

Anne married Captain Mark Phillips in 1973, and they have two children: Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall. However, she elected not to give her children royal titles in order to provide them with a more grounded upbringing and simpler childhood.
Following her divorce from Mark Phillips in 1992, Anne later married Vice-Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence. The pair live at Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire, a beautiful estate that also hosts equestrian events.
