Kavita Chaudhary, who played Lalita-ji in the enduring Surf commercials and was well-known for her 1989 smash TV series “Udaan,” reportedly passed away on February 15 at Parvati Devi Hospital in Amritsar from a heart arrest. The funeral is currently taking place.

Kavita’s close friend and mentee, Suchitra Verma, said that the actor had been battling cancer for a few years. Kavita had even told her about chemotherapy and appeared to be “visibly in pain” when they first met the previous year. “I’m sad that I never got to meet her and that I lost her. “I had no idea her condition would worsen so quickly,” Suchitra said to IndiaToday.in.

“My heart feels heavy as I share this news with you all,” she wrote in a poignant Instagram tribute to the late actor. Kaveta Chaudhary was a lighthouse of grace, courage, and inspiration that we lost last night. She was the face of the Udan series on DD and the well-known “Surf” commercial for those who grew up in the 1970s and 1980s, but she was much more than that (sic).”

She added, “I first met Kavetaji at her humble abode in Versova for an assistant director interview. Little did I know that I was about to encounter the legend herself. As she opened her door, memories of her ‘Bhaisahab’ line from the Surf commercial echoed in my mind, and I couldn’t help but utter it aloud. That moment marked the beginning of a bond that transcended mere friendship. She became my mentor, my guide, my spiritual guru, and above all, she became family (sic).”

She added, “Kavetaji lived and breathed women’s empowerment; she wasn’t just a symbol of it. Many women were encouraged to follow their aspirations by her work, particularly those in the Indian Police Services. Future generations will be inspired by her legacy of empowerment. Although the fact that she is no longer in suffering gives me comfort, the knowledge that she will never return my calls saddens me. May her soul rest in peace for all eternity.

She ended by saying, “Her light may have dimmed on earth, but her spirit shines bright in the heavens above. I leave you with this quote in her memory, which captures the essence of this remarkable woman.” Until we meet again, Kaveta Ma’am. We shall always remember you in our hearts. Veta Chaudhary (sic) #RIP.”

In the renowned Indian television series “Udaan,” Kavita Chaudhary portrayed the tough IPS Officer Kalyani Singh, leaving her mark on the audience’s hearts with her uncommon elegance and brilliance. She brought her role to life with her enchanting presence and subtle performance, motivating the audience with Kalyani’s unwavering tenacity and determination. She was also well-known for playing Lalita-ji in enduring ads from the 1980s and 1990s.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
