Following the terror group ISIS-K’s “global” threat against the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup match between India and Pakistan this year, New York has increased security.
As per a report, Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick J. Ryder stated that the event was initially threatened in April with an ISIS-K connection, and then received more targeted threats regarding the June 9 India vs. Pakistan match. He continued by saying that the threats also made mention of a widely shared viral movie on the internet that exhorts “that lone wolf to act out.”
