On the second day of the fourth test in Ranchi, Shoaib Bashir destroyed India’s batting lineup, keeping England on track for a comfortable first innings lead.
The athletic off-spinner provided evidence for his selection for the game by limiting India to 219-7 on a hostile pitch where the ball was frequently maintained low with figures of 4-84.
One such delivery claimed the wicket of India’s in-form opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (73), and the hosts, leading 2-1 in the five-match series, ended the day 134 runs behind England.
Kuldeep Yadav (17) and Dhruv Jurel (30) offered late fight with a 42-run partnership for the eighth wicket that remained unbroken.

England made an incredible recovery under Root, going from a shaky 112-5 to an undefeated 122 before the tourists were bowled out for 353.
With a counterattacking 58 that included six sixes and nine fours, Ollie Robinson quickly reached his first test fifty.
After getting rid of Robinson and Bashir in the same over, Ravindra Jadeja (4-67) took out James Anderson to take the last English wicket.
