New Delhi, June 8: The INDIA bloc on Monday sharpened its attack on the Narendra Modi government, deciding to formally raise concerns over alleged “vote loot” and electoral irregularities before the Chief Justice of India while unanimously demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET and CBSE examination controversies.
At a meeting attended by leaders of 25 opposition parties at the Constitution Club in New Delhi, the alliance adopted a five-point action plan focused on electoral transparency, education, economic concerns, and parliamentary coordination.
Addressing a press conference after the meeting, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said the participating parties had reached a consensus on key issues confronting the country.
“The INDIA alliance meeting has concluded with 25 parties in attendance. Everyone shared their views, and we reached a consensus on five points. We have agreed today that we will fight for these issues, work on them, and move forward,” Kharge said.

Five-Point Agenda
A key decision was to send a joint letter to the Chief Justice of India regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, alleged voter disenfranchisement, and what opposition parties termed “vote loot”. The alliance said concerns relating to the integrity of the electoral process must be addressed to safeguard public confidence in democracy.
The bloc also unanimously demanded the immediate resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, accusing the Education Ministry of failing students through repeated controversies surrounding NEET, CBSE, and other competitive examinations. Opposition leaders described the examination irregularities and paper leak scandals as a betrayal of lakhs of students and job aspirants.
The alliance further urged the Centre to convene an all-party meeting to discuss the economy, unemployment, inflation, farmers’ issues, and other matters affecting ordinary citizens.
To strengthen coordination, INDIA bloc partners agreed to hold meetings every two months and continue daily strategy sessions during the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament at the office of the Leader of Opposition.

Meeting Held Amid Opposition Challenges
The meeting took place in the aftermath of Assembly elections in four states and the Union Territory of Puducherry. While opposition parties retained power in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the BJP registered major victories in West Bengal and Assam and retained Puducherry with the support of its ally, the All India NR Congress.
The gathering was reportedly convened at the request of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), which is facing a serious internal crisis following its defeat in West Bengal after 15 years in power.
Other Issues Raised
Apart from electoral reforms and education, opposition leaders discussed allegations of misuse of central investigative agencies, discrimination against non-BJP state governments, privatisation, unemployment, inflation, paper leaks in recruitment and entrance examinations, and the Centre’s foreign policy.
The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) stayed away from the meeting, citing differences with the Congress following the recent Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
The INDIA bloc’s renewed coordination comes at a crucial time as opposition parties seek to regroup ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament. However, the deepening crisis within the TMC could emerge as a significant challenge for the alliance in the months ahead.
