Continuous downpours continued to batter several regions of the nation, resulting in casualties and a path of devastation due to landslides and flash floods. The population will struggle for a while to return to normal life, which was already disrupted by the torrential downpours, since additional rain is forecast in numerous states, including Uttarakhand, Gujarat, and Himachal Pradesh.

Five individuals were killed in separate weather-related accidents in Himachal Pradesh, one of the states worst hit by the monsoon chaos, where the state was marooned by nonstop rain.

According to reports, a Nepali couple was buried alive in a landslip while an elderly couple and their grandson were presumed dead when their dhaba in Shimla was destroyed by a flash flood on Saturday.

The couple, Bhem Bahadur and his wife Sheela, were killed when their makeshift house fell owing to the landslip as torrential rains lashed Kalala village in Kotkhai in Shimla. The officials claimed that the two were from Nepal and were employed as labourers in Kalala.

In a another incident, a senior couple and their grandchild were reported missing and rescue efforts were underway to find them after their dhaba in Shimla’s Badiyara village was swept away in a flash flood in the Laila stream.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
