Arvind Kejriwal is facing latest legal issue as a Haryana court has summoned the former Delhi Chief Minister regarding his allegation that the state government is “poisoning” the Yamuna to interfere with Delhi’s water supply.

The court has instructed Kejriwal to show up before it on February 17. The notice issued to Kejriwal stated that if he does not comply, legal action will be taken against him according to the law.

Kejriwal has been asked to explain the basis for his accusations and also provide a report that further supports his assertions that the Haryana government was contaminating the Yamuna water.

The Election Commission had previously requested evidence from Kejriwal regarding his claim. The election commission requested the ex-Chief Minister to provide his reply by 8 pm today.

In the midst of a growing dispute regarding his claims before the Delhi elections, Kejriwal informed India Today on Wednesday that the Yamuna water in Delhi had a dangerous ammonia level of 7 parts per million (PPM).

Kejriwal claimed that 7 PPM of ammonia represented “poison” and emphasized his accusations that the BJP administration in Haryana was polluting the river, endangering the lives of people in Delhi.

Escalating his assault, the former Chief Minister challenged Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to publicly drink the Yamuna water.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini reacted to Kejriwal’s assertions by taking a sip of the Yamuna water on Wednesday, as a video also emerged online.

He further asserted that water samples from the Yamuna had been tested and no toxins were detected, additionally accusing Kejriwal of having lied “his entire life.”

Rahul Gandhi, on the other hand, turned the tables on Kejriwal, daring the ex-Chief Minister to consume the Yamuna water he alleged was contaminated. In a jab at Kejriwal’s unrealized election commitments, the Raebareli MP recalled his vow to purify the river and challenged him to demonstrate its cleanliness by drinking from it himself.

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
