Despite the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, tourists and holidayers were observed visiting the scenic resort town over the weekend.
What used to be a vibrant center attracting 5,000 to 7,000 tourists each day experienced a significant drop to only 50-100 visitors in the aftermath of the severe terror attack, which resulted in the deaths of at least 26 people, predominantly tourists, and injured many others.
Over the weekend, a uplifting sight emerged on the streets of Pahalgam as visitors wandered around the town, infusing the area with a spirit of resilience, positivity, a feeling of normalcy, and renewed hope.

Tourists seen clicking pics at “selfie point”
According to the news agency PTI, the vacationers were observed capturing photos and snapping selfies at Pahalgam’s famous “selfie point” by the banks of the Lidder river.
The majority of tourists stated that because there were no prohibitions or limitations on visiting the town, they chose to proceed with their vacation plans. Hotel operators are providing exclusive discounts, and certain restaurants are giving a complimentary meal with each meal purchased.
Tourists share their experiences
“We are coming from Croatia and we are now three or four days here. We are feeling very safe, and your country is very beautiful. We don’t have any problem staying here. Kashmir is beautiful, very beautiful. It’s very nice, your country is different. We are very, very satisfied with your nature, and people are very kind. We are happy here. We are all 12 people, including two from Serbia and the others from Croatia,” a Croatian tourist, Ljiljana told nes agency ANI.

The Pahalgam Attack
In one of the largest assaults in Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists associated with Lashkar shot at a group of tourists in Pahalgam on Tuesday, April 22, resulting in the deaths of at least 26 individuals, including foreign visitors, and wounding several others. The Resistance Front (TRF), a faction of Lashkar, took responsibility for the attack.
A group of people, including elderly individuals and women, was targeted by terrorists in a bold afternoon attack.
