Kangana Ranaut’s historical drama, based on real events, Emergency hit theaters on Friday. Although the movie was unable to attract audience to cinemas on its first day, it succeeded in drawing larger crowds on Saturday.
As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the film Emergency, which is directed, co-produced, and features Kangana, made around Rs 3.50 crore nett in India on Saturday. It achieved an overall Hindi occupancy of 15.41 percent in cinemas, with the largest crowds present at the night shows.
This brings Emergency’s total earnings to Rs 6 crore after two days. The movie released in theaters with Azaad, a film featuring Ajay Devgn’s nephew Amaan Devgan and Raveena Tandon’s daughter, Rasha Thadani. However, Azaad appears to pose no challenge to Kangana’s movie since it is having difficulty drawing an audience.
On the second day, Saturday, Azaad made Rs 1.50 crore, which was the same amount it earned on Friday. The film’s overall revenue is fifty percent of what Emergency has made in two days.

Emergency signifies a crucial film in Kangana’s career, considering she hasn’t enjoyed a hit for quite a while. The actor’s recent films, Thalaivii, Dhaakad, and Tejas, did not perform well financially at the box office.
However, the movie has not notably captivated the viewers. Sana Farzeen from India Today rated the film 2.5 stars.
Emergency, featuring Anupam Kher and Shreyas Talpade in key roles, narrates the era of 1975–1977, during which former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi declared Emergency in India.
