April 26, 2026: A Delhi Police constable allegedly shot dead a food delivery agent and injured another man following a late-night altercation in the Dwarka area of the capital on Sunday.

The incident took place in Jafarpur Kalan, where Rupesh, a daily wage labourer, was hosting a small gathering to celebrate his son’s second birthday. Around 20 guests had attended the party, and most had begun leaving after the cake-cutting ceremony.

At approximately 2:00 am, a group of six people remained outside, some seated on two-wheelers while waiting for cabs. It was then that the accused, identified as Neeraj—a tenant living about 50 metres away—approached them and reportedly got into an argument over a minor issue.

During the heated exchange, Neeraj allegedly opened fire, shooting Pandav Kumar, a food delivery agent, who was sitting on a motorcycle. The bullet struck Pandav in the chest and passed through his body, also hitting Krishna, who was seated behind him, in the abdomen.

Both injured men were rushed to a nearby hospital, where Pandav was declared dead. Krishna is currently undergoing treatment.

Police said the accused, Neeraj, is a head constable posted with the Special Cell of Delhi Police and hails from Rohtak, Haryana. He had been living alone in Ravta village for nearly 15 years.

A case has been registered, and the accused has been taken into custody. Further investigation is underway.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
