According to police sources, Delhi Police got two calls in a row from Swati Maliwal on Monday morning, both coming from the Chief Minister’s Civil Lines home. After allegedly being assaulted, the caller—who claimed to be AAP leader Swati Maliwal—reportedly called emergency services.
Controversy Erupts Over Alleged Assault at Delhi Chief Minister’s Residence
One of the calls, made at around 9:30 AM, involved the complainant alleging that Bibhav Kumar, an aide to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, had assaulted her.
But sources claimed that after a police squad showed up at the scene, they took Maliwal to the station. Delhi Police are not allowed to enter the Chief Minister’s residence without prior authorization, per protocol.
“A PCR call was received at PS Civil Lines at 9:34 AM from a lady stating she was assaulted at the Chief Minister’s house,” a senior Delhi Police official stated. Later on, MP Madam visited PS Civil Lines, but she departed with the statement that she would file a complaint at a later time.”

According to police sources, Swati Maliwal showed up at the Chief Minister’s house this morning at 9:10 in order to meet with Arvind Kejriwal. However, his personal staff refused to set up a meeting for her. After that, at 9:31 AM, Maliwal made a help request to the police control room. At 9:34 AM, her call was then forwarded to the North control room.
Allegations and Controversy Surrounding Arvind Kejriwal’s Former Personal Assistant
Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal’s personal assistant was Bibhav Kumar. Following an interrogation by the Enforcement Directorate regarding an alleged incident of obstructing government work, he was let go from his position last month.
Officers from the North control room went directly to the Chief Minister’s residence, and a short while later, the Station House Officer (SHO) also showed up.
According to police sources, Maliwal consented to go to the station with the police after speaking with the SHO. Reports of an attack on Maliwal started to circulate during this period. According to the sources, Swati Maliwal left the police station after being questioned for a while. To date, no formal complaint has been submitted.
