Actor Ranbir Kapoor and his family are the subject of a police complaint regarding a viral video showing them enjoying Christmas.

In the video, which was captured this year at the renowned Kapoor family’s Christmas party, Ranbir lights a pudding after pouring spirit over it. In the video, Alia Bhatt, the actress, who is his wife, is seen seated by him. A complaint regarding the actor’s alleged ‘hurting of religious emotions’ has been made.

Through his attorneys Ashish Rai and Pankaj Mishra, Sanjay Tiwari filed a complaint at the Ghatkopar police station, claiming that the actor “is seen pouring liquor on cake and setting it on fire while saying Jai Mata Di.”

“In Hinduism, fire god is invoked before invoking other deities, but Ranbir Kapoor and his family members deliberately used intoxicants while celebrating the festival of another religion and chanted Jai Mata Di,” the complaint says.

The footage is from Kunal Kapoor’s yearly Christmas brunch on December 25, which was attended by Raha, Alia, Ranbir, and other Kapoor family members.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
