Governor slams Mamata over Kolkata rape-muder case
West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose slammed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday, saying “she was behaving like Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde” amid public outrage over the terrible rape and murder of a trainee doctor at a government-run hospital in Kolkata.
Speaking exclusively to India Today TV, the Governor also alleged complete police failure, citing ‘tardy’ investigation.

“The Chief Minister’s statement about hanging the guy and then continuing the trial sounds like a Roman emperor’s voice. “The Chief Minister is behaving like Jekyll and Hyde, and people know who is who,” Bose stated.
When asked about his thoughts on the police investigation in the matter, Bose stated that he had already expressed his discontent with the existing police hierarchy in Kolkata.
“I have already written a lengthy letter to the Chief Minister following the tragedy at the KG Kar Hospital, suggesting the appropriate measures and demanding a report from her under Article 167 of the Constitution. Notably, in the last five years, I sent 30 similar letters to which no response was received. “This is unconstitutional,” the Governor stated.

When asked about the opposition’s demand for President’s rule in West Bengal, CV Ananda Bose responded, “The Constitution of India is robust enough to deal with any exigency. I am monitoring the situation and will provide a detailed report to the Government of India as needed.
Speaking about the mounting demand for justice for the Kolkata rape and murder victim, Governor Bose stated that the case is already before the High Court and that justice will be served to the deceased.
