The “Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life” campaign was arranged by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) at Modern School, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi, on Wednesday. The collaboration with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) organized an event to educate students, teachers, and parents about the risks of drug abuse and encourage a drug-free way of life.

The event included a range of interesting talks and speeches centering on the reasons, impacts, and ways to prevent substance abuse.

Speakers highlighted the significance of being informed and provided essential tips for preventing drug abuse. The session ended with an engaging question and answer session, giving participants the opportunity to talk about their worries and receive advice.

On a larger scale, the 1985 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act is India’s main legal tool in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking. This law imposes harsh punishments, such as life in jail or capital punishment for serious crimes, and also advocates for helping individuals with addiction issues.

The main organization responsible for implementing the NDPS Act is the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), collaborating with other authorities to tackle illicit drug operations.

CBSE is considering the option of establishing a formal agreement with NCB to expand drug education initiatives to all schools affiliated with CBSE. CBSE Secretary Himanshu Gupta, NCB DDG Neeraj Kumar Gupta, NCB Additional Director N Mrinal, and Modern School Principal Vibha Khosla, along with other respected individuals, were present at the event.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
