Rescue efforts are ongoing in Badrinath, located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, following an avalanche that hit a Border Roads Organisation (BRO) camp close to the high-altitude border village of Mana on Friday, burying about 25 workers under the snow.
At first, there were 57 workers in total, out of which 32 have been saved and taken to an Army camp close to Mana village. Reports indicate that several of the rescued workers are in critical condition.
The avalanche hit in the morning between Mana and Mana Pass, burying the workers involved in snow-clearing tasks crucial for Army access to the India-Tibet border.
