As Trump’s policies take aim at the estimated 11 million unauthorized immigrants, approximately 725,000 Indians—many of whom overstayed visas—face heightened deportation risks. Trump’s orders signal stricter enforcement of immigration laws.

Donald Trump’s first day in office as the 47th President of the United States is expected to bring sweeping changes, with nearly 11 million unauthorized immigrants, including approximately 725,000 Indians, potentially facing a new wave of enforcement policies.
Shortly after being sworn in, Trump plans to sign a series of executive orders addressing critical issues such as immigration, border security, energy independence, and government reform, according to senior aides. These orders aim to fulfill key campaign promises and signal a dramatic shift in U.S. policies.

Immigration Crackdown
The estimated 11 million unauthorized immigrants in the U.S. include individuals who entered the country without authorization or overstayed their visas. Indian nationals represent one of the fastest-growing groups, with visa overstays being a major factor contributing to their unauthorized status. Trump’s planned executive orders are expected to prioritize border security and immigration enforcement, including:
- Declaring an emergency on the southern border.
- Reinstating the “Remain in Mexico” policy.
- Ending the “Catch and Release” program.
- Classifying cartels as “foreign terrorist organizations.”
- Deporting unauthorized immigrants at an accelerated pace.
At a victory rally in Washington, Trump’s aide Stephen Miller previewed the orders, emphasizing their focus on border security and criminal justice. “It’s going to mean an executive order ending border invasion, sending illegal immigrants home, and taking America back,” Miller said.
Within 24 hrs of taking office, Trump will start deporting illegal immigrants. America now has a leader who loves his country and puts his people first.

Energy and Environmental Shifts
Trump is also poised to reverse many Biden-era energy and environmental policies. Key actions include:
- Withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement.
- Opening offshore and Arctic drilling.
- Expediting pipeline construction.
- Lifting restrictions on fossil fuel production. These moves highlight Trump’s intent to prioritize energy independence and domestic resource development over environmental regulations.
Executive orders, which carry the force of law without requiring Congressional approval, are expected to be central to Trump’s early agenda. More than 100 orders will reportedly be ready on his desk by Monday afternoon, allowing him to swiftly implement policies in line with his vision for the country.
A Record-Setting Start
In an interview with NBC News, Trump described his plans as “record-setting,” underscoring his urgency to deliver results. “These orders will end border invasion, eradicate criminal cartels, and deliver justice to Americans harmed by illegal immigration,” he said.
At 78, Trump’s administration is set to mark a bold beginning, reversing major Biden-era policies and setting a new course for the U.S. on issues ranging from immigration to energy. As he prepares to take office, Trump remains steadfast in his promise to “take America back.”
