Ruby Dhalla, a leader of Canada’s Liberal Party with Indian roots, recently made headlines with a daring declaration about her intention to deport illegal immigrants if she wins the election.

Dhalla, a contender for the leadership of the Liberal Party, aims to succeed Justin Trudeau as Prime Minister of Canada. This commitment has positioned immigration central to her campaign and has generated a blend of backing and debate.

On January 22, Dhalla officially announced her bid to replace Justin Trudeau as the head of the Liberal Party, a position that may result in the prime ministership if the party triumphs in the upcoming federal election.

Who is Ruby Dhalla?

Dhalla later relocated to Toronto, where she earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1999.

Prior to her political career, Dhalla practiced as a chiropractor and explored acting, featuring in the Bollywood-influenced movie ‘Kyon? Kis ke liye? She was the runner-up in the 1993 Miss India-Canada pageant.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
