Cricketing legend Virat Kohli made a sweet gesture for Delhi’s Ranji trophy star Shivam Sharma after he claimed a 5-wicket haul in their victory against Railways on Saturday, February 1. Delhi secured victory in the match by an innings and 19 runs in the Elite Group D contest at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Kohli’s comeback didn’t unfold as expected, as he was out for a mere 6 runs by Himanshu Sangwan. Nevertheless, the other Delhi players rose to the occasion with Ayush Badoni smashing a fierce 99 and Sumit Mathur excelling with both bat and ball.
Mathur took 3 wickets in the first innings and made 86 runs, earning the title of Player Of The Match for his performance. Another standout player was Shivam, who navigated through the Railways batting lineup in the second innings.
Shivam mentioned that the bowling performance would be significant to him and that Kohli’s autograph on the match ball added to its uniqueness. He would additionally post a photo of the two men in the locker room, as well as other images taken post-game.
