Seizing on the momentum of the nationwide student protests, Rahul Gandhi issued a rallying cry to farmers, labourers, and the poor, declaring that the time has come to constitutionally fight for their dignity and remove the current administration.

NEW DELHI, July 25, 2026 — Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday seized on the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, framing the minister’s departure as a direct victory for India’s youth while issuing a stark warning to the Modi administration: “The time has come to remove this government.”

Describing Pradhan’s exit as merely the first step toward overhauling a deeply compromised education system, Gandhi commended the relentless nationwide student agitation that forced the Centre’s hand. In a post on X, he wrote, “Heartiest congratulations to every young person, every student who took to the streets and stood firm to protect democracy, the Constitution, and their future.”

“The Battle Isn’t Over”: Two Key Demands

While celebrating the resignation as a significant milestone, the Leader of the Opposition made it clear that the pressure campaign will not ease. Gandhi emphasized that two of the students’ core demands remain completely unaddressed by the ruling administration:

  • A Public Apology from the PM: Gandhi called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to respect the nation’s youth and issue a formal, public apology to the millions of students whose academic futures were jeopardized by the examination mafia.

  • Accountability for State Violence: He demanded strict and immediate legal action against the officials and authorities responsible for using excessive police force to brutalize and suppress peaceful student demonstrators during the weeks of unrest.

A Rallying Cry Against the Administration

Capitalizing on the momentum of the student victory, Gandhi broadened his message into a nationwide call for resistance. He directly appealed to farmers, labourers, and the impoverished, urging other marginalized sections of society to draw inspiration from the students’ successful agitation.

True courage, Gandhi asserted, lies in standing firm and fighting constitutionally for one’s dignity against systemic government suppression. Concluding his statement with a blunt directive and a warning of the political battles to come, he told the public: “The time has come to remove this government. Don’t be afraid!”

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
