The National Commission for Women (NCW) summoned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s personal secretary, Bibhav Kumar, on Thursday after taking suo moto cognizance of the alleged assault on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha member of Parliament (MP), Swati Maliwal.
The NCW said that it has taken suo moto cognizance of a media post with the caption, “DCW chief Swati Maliwal accuses Arvind Kejriwal’s personal secretary of assaulting her,” in a notice sent to Kumar on Thursday.
Swati Maliwal Alleges Assault at Delhi CM’s Residence; NCW Schedules Hearing for May 17
According to the post, Ms. Swati Maliwal, Rajya Sabha MP and former head of the Delhi Commission for Women, claimed in court that she had been violently attacked at the Chief Minister of Delhi’s home by the Chief Minister’s private secretary. Considering the aforementioned, the Commission has set a hearing for May 17, 2024, at 11:00 AM. The Commission stated that in-person appearances by all parties involved are required.

Assault Allegation at Kejriwal’s Residence: Maliwal Claims Mistreatment, AAP Promises Action
Maliwal allegedly visited Chief Minister Kejriwal at his Civil Lines home on Monday. A woman called police at 9:34 a.m. claiming to have been beaten at Kejriwal’s house using a PCR. She identified herself as Swati Maliwal during the second call. After visiting the Civil Lines police station, the Rajya Sabha MP departed without filing a complaint.
A day later, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh denounced the incident and the AAP, led by senior leaders, acknowledged it. Maliwal visited Arvind Kejriwal at his home yesterday. Bibhav Kumar mistreated her as she waited to meet him in the drawing room. This is a very regrettable occurrence. Sanjay Singh had stated, “Kerriwal has acknowledged it and will take strong action regarding the incident. Maliwal, meanwhile, has not yet released a statement on the incident.
