The Lt. Governor Secretariat has instructed the Chief Secretary to organize special camps in collaboration with concerned departments to facilitate access to the Delhi Development Authority’s (DDA) newly approved ‘Sasta Ghar’ housing scheme. The initiative, which offers a 25% discount on housing, targets specific groups including construction workers, auto/taxi drivers, women, Vir Nari, Ex-servicemen, Divyangjans, Gallantry and Arjuna awardees, and members of scheduled castes and tribes.
To ensure smooth implementation, special camps will be set up at various locations, including construction sites, DMRC, NCRTC, CPWD, NHAI sites, and other key areas. These camps will primarily target workers, laborers, Jhuggi dwellers, and residents in rental accommodations.
The Rajya Sainik Board will conduct outreach programs for Vir Nari, Ex-servicemen, and Gallantry/Arjuna awardees, while the Transport Department will launch awareness campaigns and organize special camps at ARU/VIU Burari for auto/taxi drivers.
The Delhi Scheduled Caste Finance & Development Corporation will assist SC/ST applicants with loans, while the WCD, Social Welfare, and SC/ST Department will organize camps for street vendors, women, Divyangjans, and other SC/ST beneficiaries.
To ensure efficiency, DDA officers will be present at each camp, with all necessary documentation and forms available for distribution. The camps commenced today, and departments have been instructed to report the progress of the outreach programs within 15 days for the LG’s review.
