Shinde Sena leader Rajesh Shah arrested after son Mihir Shah kills 1 woman in road rage

A woman died and her husband was injured in a hit-and-run accident in Mumbai’s Worli early Sunday when a BMW car smashed their scooter. The car was purportedly driven by Mihir Shah, the son of a leader of Shiv Sena, led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The 24-year-old male has been missing since the incident.

The police have arrested Mihir Shah’s father, Rajesh Shah, the deputy leader of the Shinde Sena in Palghar district. The cops said the BMW was registered in his name. Rajesh Shah’s driver, Rajrishi Bidawat, has also been apprehended by police.

The victims, residents of Worli’s Koliwada district, had just returned from Sassoon Dock after purchasing fish when the vehicle struck them near Atria Mall about 5.30 a.m., according to police.

Mumbai Police officers said that efforts to apprehend Mihir Shah are ongoing. Mihir’s driver was also present in the car when the event occurred, according to authorities.

CM Shinde calls the incident as ‘unfortunate’

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde described it as a “very unfortunate incident,” and assured that the case will be probed impartially.

“The hit-and-run incident in Mumbai was sad. I have spoken with the police, and the law will be followed strictly. “Everyone will be treated equally,” the Chief Minister assured the reporters.

“Visited the Worli Police Station today and met with senior police officers investigating the hit-and-run case that occurred in Worli today. I will not go into the political leanings of Mr Shah, the accused of the hit-and-run, but I hope the police will act swiftly to catch the accused and bring him to justice. Hopefully there will be no political refuge by the regime,” he wrote on X.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
