Rahul Gandhi’s helicopter checked by poll officials

The helicopter of former Congress national president Rahul Gandhi has been searched by election officials in Tamil Nadu. He had reached the South Indian state to participate in the election campaign program. There is news that he was leaving for Kerala. Rahul is contesting from Wayanad seat in Kerala for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. This type of claim is being made in media reports.

Election officials on Monday searched Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s helicopter soon after it landed in Tamil Nadu. Rahul Gandhi traveled from Mysore to Nilgiri by helicopter. The Congress leader was visiting his parliamentary constituency Wayanad in Kerala, where he has planned several programmes, including a public meeting.

Earlier on Sunday (April 14), the helicopter of Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee was raided and searched by the Income Tax Department. A case is now being registered by TMC regarding this and it has also been said to lodge a complaint with the Election Commission.

Abhishek Banerjee himself gave this information in a post on his X handle on Sunday. Trinamool Congress National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee told that he is going to Haldia by helicopter. A day before this, Income Tax Department officials had raided the helicopter at Behala Flying Club. He wrote, “Today my helicopter and security personnel were searched and raided. But, nothing was found. The landlords can use all their strength, but Bengal will continue to resist, will not waver.”

At the same time, Trinamool MP Derek O’Brien wrote on Abhishek Banerjee’s tweet, “Did the desperate people get some fruits and fish sandwiches on the helicopter?” Another party leader Saket Gokhale wrote on this that in his frustration, PM Modi and Amit Shah is now brazenly using the Income Tax Department to stop a candidate from campaigning independently, just 5 days before the elections. The Election Commission, as usual, is serving the person who personally elected and appointed them, and turning a blind eye.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
