Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the Ayodhya Dham railway station. Two Amrit Bharat Express trains were also flagged off by the prime minister from the redeveloped station.
Later, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate the newly-built airport and will lay the foundation stones for a slew of development projects in Uttar Pradesh.
At 11 a.m. today, Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed PM Modi at the airport upon his arrival in the temple town. The Prime Minister held a roadshow on his way to the railway station after his arrival.
Meanwhile, the sacred city is heavily guarded and decorated with floral arrangements, murals, and decorative columns with a theme. Large posters with photographs of Modi have been displayed prominently in this area, and outside the renovated train station, cutouts of Lord Ram have been erected.
Elaborate security arrangements were made along the Ram Path to the Ayodhya airport, about 15 km from the main city.
On Saturday morning, the town’s streets were alive with the sound of holy chanting and bell ringing from multiple temples, accompanied by devotional music praising Lord Ram.
This visit by the Prime Minister comes just ahead of the ‘pran pratishtha’ or consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir on January 22.
