NTA allegedly released revised NEET UG 2024 results following Supreme Court order
Following the Supreme Court’s judgment to revoke the compensatory marks initially awarded, the National Testing Agency (NTA) supposedly released the updated NEET UG 2024 results today. However, the education ministry stated that the revised score results had not yet been released.
“Students are unable to access the results on it. It will be released soon. The link is an old link,” the ministry noted.

Additional marks for an erroneous Physics question retracted
Initially, the NTA granted extra marks to a group of students who answered a Physics question using an inaccurate reference in their old Class 12 NCERT science textbook.
However, the Supreme Court ruled that just the correct answer would be allowed, and any other responses would be marked as incorrect.
As a result, the scores of 44 applicants who had received a perfect score of 720/720 and gained All India Rank (AIR) 1 were reduced by five marks, costing them their top positions.

Only 52% appeared for the retest
Only 813 candidates (52% of the impacted students) took the retest. The updated results result in a major reshuffling of positions, particularly for individuals who were first classified as toppers.
Following the Supreme Court’s decision, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the NTA would produce a new merit list within two days.
Students should carefully verify their qualifications in the amended results to ensure accuracy.
This year’s NEET UG exam, held on May 5, had a large turnout, with 13,31,321 female students, 9,96,393 male candidates, and 17 transgender candidates taking part. The initial results drew attention, with 67 candidates named as AIR 1 before the modification.
