Star Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami has scalped 200 wickets in ODI cricket. Shami achieved the milestone during India’s first match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 against Bangladesh in Dubai.
The 34-year-old reached the milestone of 200 wickets with his third wicket.
Significantly, Shami is the quickest Indian to reach 200 wickets in ODI cricket. He ranks joint-second in overall speed.

Indian bowlers with 200 wickets or more
Shami is the seventh Indian bowler to achieve 200 or more wickets in ODIs. Anil Kumble tops the chart with 334 wickets, trailed by Javagal Srinath (315) and Ajit Agarkar (288).
He also became the second-quickest bowler to attain 200 ODI wickets, based on the number of matches played. Only Australia’s Mitchell Starc has accomplished the feat faster than Shami.
Shami, who was given a break by India for the third ODI against England in Ahmedabad earlier this month, rejoined the playing XI for the Champions Trophy 2025 opener, enabling the Men in Blue to make a rapid start to the match.
