Prime Minister Narendra Modi, currently visiting Poland for two days, emphasized the need for reform in the United Nations and other global institutions to tackle worldwide challenges.
PM Modi meets Polish PM Donald Tusk
During a joint press conference with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Warsaw on Thursday, PM Modi mentioned that India and Poland have been making progress together on the global platform.
“We both agree that reform in the United Nations and other international institutions is the need of the hour to face global challenges,” he said.
The Prime Minister made the statement one day before his trip to Ukraine, where there has been ongoing conflict with Russia, a key ally of India, since February 2022.

PM Modi is scheduled to visit Ukraine on August 23. He will be the inaugural Indian Prime Minister to travel to Ukraine following the establishment of diplomatic relations.
In the previous month, Prime Minister Modi traveled to Russia following his re-election. The West criticized the Indian Prime Minister for visiting and being friendly with Russian President Vladimir Putin, urging him to speak out against Moscow’s actions in Ukraine.
The prime minister’s trip to Ukraine is viewed as New Delhi’s attempt to maintain balance during the conflict.
India has chosen to remain neutral in the Ukraine war, despite having strong historical relations with Russia.
