CBI requests approval for a narco-analysis test of Sandip Ghosh; test to be conducted at Directorate of Forensic Science, Gandhinagar
On Friday, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) requested approval from a special court in Sealdah to transfer Sandip Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Hospital, to Gujarat for a narco-analysis test related to the investigation of a junior doctor’s rape and murder at the hospital.
CBI sources have stated that the agency plans to conduct the test at the Directorate of Forensic Science in Gandhinagar.
The CBI informed the court that Sandip Ghosh had already undergone a polygraph test during the investigation, and the report from CFSL, New Delhi, showed that he had been deceptive on multiple important matters.

The CBI is requesting approval to administer a lie detector test on Kolkata Police Inspector Abhijit Mondal, who was detained with Ghosh earlier this month.
While being questioned by the CBI, Mondal was shown documents and witness statements, and he provided vague answers on important issues. The CBI contended that a lie detector test is needed to confirm his account of the events.

In yesterday’s session, the investigating agency filed two petitions: one asking for permission to obtain Sandip Ghosh’s approval for a narco-analysis test in Gandhinagar and the other for Abhijit Mondal’s approval for a polygraph test in Kolkata.
Having reviewed the requests, the court ordered the CBI to bring both suspects on September 23. On that day, their agreement will be documented in front of the judge, after which the court will make its decision.
