The Indian cricket team has faced another setback as one of its key batsmen, KL Rahul, has been ruled out of the third Test match against England in Rajkot. The senior selection committee had initially named Rahul for the last three Test matches but with a rider regarding his fitness clearance from the BCCI medical team. Unfortunately, Rahul has not yet been deemed fully fit, prompting his exclusion from the upcoming test match.

Injuries have plagued the Indian team throughout the ongoing series against England. The absence of Virat Kohli due to personal reasons was a significant blow, followed by Shreyas Iyer losing his place in the side due to a lack of runs. Rahul’s withdrawal further adds to the team’s challenges, requiring selectors to adjust the playing XI for the crucial third Test match.

Now KL Rahul has been ruled out of the third Test against England. Devdutt Padikkal has come in replacing Rahul.

Indian squad just keeps on updating. Interesting to see what would be our playing X1. #INDvsENG

Jadeja Cleared for Third Test, Rahul’s Fitness Under Observation

While KL Rahul remains sidelined due to fitness concerns, Ravindra Jadeja has been given the green signal to participate in the third Test against England. The BCCI medical team has granted clearance for Jadeja, boosting the Indian team’s lineup. However, the medical team will monitor Rahul’s fitness, with a decision on his availability expected after further observation.

The absence of KL Rahul creates an opportunity for another Karnataka batsman, Devdutt Padikkal, to make his mark in the Test squad. Padikkal’s recent performances in the Ranji Trophy, including a century against Tamil Nadu, have caught selectors’ attention. With his consistent run-scoring and versatility in batting positions, Padikkal aims to make a strong impression in the absence of Rahul.

Earlier on Sunday, KL Rahul was found practicing during a net session. However, it seems like the ace Indian wicketkeeper-batsman is not yet fully fit to feature in the third Test at Rajkot.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
