Ayushmann Khurrana-Kareena Kapoor Khan to co-star for the first time in Meghna Gulzar film
Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana will appear together on screen for the first time in Meghna Gulzar’s next film. It’s a criminal thriller based on the Hyderabad rape case. According to reports, filming for the untitled picture will begin by the end of the year, and casting is now ongoing.
In its exclusive report, Pinkvilla mentioned “It’s a hard-hitting film that warrants the presence of actors with the caliber of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana. The duo read the script and were shocked by the details of the case. After Talvar, this is another film that could shock the nation and stir a conversation about the case.”

Kareena and Ayushmann have both accepted to appear in the film. “Meghna intends to release the picture before the end of 2024. It will be released in theaters in 2025, according to the source.
About the movie
According to a source close to the project, “Meghna has done all of her research on the subject over the last few years and has a solid source material for her screenplay.” She was moved by all that transpired. Kareena and Ayushmann identified with the feelings and are excited to collaborate on this particular project.”
“Meghna intends to release the film before the end of 2024. It will be released in cinemas in 2025,” the person claimed. The source stated that while both stars have agreed to shoot the film “in principle,” the paperwork will be completed within a week. This hard-hitting drama will be Ayushmann and Kareena’s debut collaboration, and Meghna’s first with both actors.

Meghna has a history of making films based on true stories. Her last four films have been inspired by true-life occurrences. Talvar (2015), starring Irrfan Khan, is based on the 2008 Noida double murder case and adapted from Avirook Sen’s book Aarushi. Meghna’s 2018 spy thriller Raazi, starring Alia Bhatt, was based on Harinder Singh Sakka’s biography Calling Sehmat. Her 2020 film Chhapaak, which starred Deepika Padukone, was a biopic on acid assault survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Lastly, Vicky Kaushal acted as former Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw in the film Sam Bahadur, which was released in 2018.
On the work front
On the professional front, Kareena recently appeared in the comedy-drama flick Crew. The film also included Tabu, Kriti Sanon, Diljit Dosanjh, and Kapil Sharma in key parts. Rajesh A Krishnan directed the film, which received considerable praise from reviewers and audiences.
Ayushmann Khurrana was last seen in the film Dream Girl 2, the sequel to his 2019 superhit Dream Girl. It is directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and starred Ayushmann Khurrana in dual roles.
