Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah urges PM Modi to cancel Prajwal Revanna’s diplomatic passport
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi again on Wednesday, demanding him to cancel JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna’s diplomatic passport in connection with the ‘obscene videos’ case. He also urged PM Modi to take “quick and concerted actions to secure his repatriation to India.”
In his letter dated May 22, the Chief Minister stated that “it is shameful” that Prajwal Revanna “fled the country on April 27 using his diplomatic passport shortly after news of his heinous actions emerged and just a few hours before the first FIR was filed against him”.
The letter further read, “Karnataka’s government established a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to ensure justice is served… is investigating Prajwal Revanna’s alleged crimes against women and working to ensure the accused’s presence in court to face criminal charges.”

No response from the Centre: G Parameshwara
Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said on Wednesday that the state government appealed to the Centre urging it to cancel Prajwal’s diplomatic passport after the court issued the warrant, but has yet to receive a response, according to PTI.
He said, “Nothing has arrived yet (from the Center). The Centre should also assist us, as we request. There is no point in merely criticising. The Centre should assist us within the scope of the law.”
Prajwal Revanna, the alleged sexual offender, is running for re-election in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He is the NDA’s contender for the Hassan Lok Sabha constituency and the grandson of former Prime Minister and JD(S) patriarch H D Deve Gowda.
