Faridabad police have arrested a woman and her alleged lover for the murder of her husband, who was reportedly attacked after being served alcohol and then buried near the family home in Mojabad village.

Faridabad: A suspected extramarital relationship has turned deadly in Faridabad, where a 42-year-old man was allegedly murdered by his wife and her lover before his body was buried in a pit near the couple’s home, police said.
The Crime Branch DLF arrested both accused within 24 hours after the buried remains came to light, officials said. The deceased has been identified as Shyamveer.
The accused have been identified as Keshav, Shyamveer’s wife, and Kamat, a resident of Mahoba district in Uttar Pradesh. Police said Kamat had been staying at Shyamveer’s house in Mojabad village.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Aman Yadav, investigators found that Kamat and Shyamveer’s wife were allegedly in a relationship. Police suspect that Shyamveer had discovered the affair, resulting in repeated arguments between the couple.

Investigators said the two accused subsequently allegedly planned the murder.
According to the police account, the alleged killing took place on the evening of August 16. Kamat allegedly gave Shyamveer alcohol and, after he became intoxicated, attacked him on the head with an interlocking paving tile. Shyamveer died from the assault, police alleged.
Police further alleged that Keshav locked the house from outside during the attack, apparently to prevent neighbours from hearing any disturbance.
After the alleged murder, the accused are said to have buried Shyamveer’s body in a pit close to the house in an attempt to conceal the crime.
The case surfaced on August 24, when Tigaon police station received information from the Faridabad police control room about a body reportedly buried in the ground.
A police team immediately reached the location and recovered the remains. The body was exhumed in the presence of a duty magistrate and sent for post-mortem examination as part of the investigation.

Following the recovery, Crime Branch DLF teams questioned suspects and gathered evidence to reconstruct the sequence of events. The two accused were subsequently arrested within 24 hours of the police receiving information about the buried body.
Police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged murder, including the motive, the precise role played by each accused and the circumstances in which the body was buried.
Investigators are also expected to rely on forensic and post-mortem findings to establish the cause and manner of death and corroborate the sequence of events described during the investigation.
Further investigation is underway.
