BSP leader Mayawati criticises ‘castiest’ people of Jat community for BSP loss in Haryana

BSP leader Mayawati criticized the “casteist” individuals within the Jat community in Haryana for the negative assembly election outcomes, urging them to alter their mindset. The BSP had contested the Haryana elections alongside the local party INLD.

The BJP surprised its competitors by winning the state elections for the third consecutive time, securing 48 out of 90 seats, with the Congress amassing 37 and the INLD only managing to win two. Meanwhile, three seats were won by Independent candidates, as reported by the Election Commission.

BSP received 1.82% of vote share in Haryana

According to data analysis on the EC website, the BSP received 1.82% of the vote share, while its partner INLD obtained 4.14%.

Mayawati, the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, on Tuesday night, took to social media platform X and said, “The BSP and the INLD fought the Haryana assembly general election in alliance. But today’s result shows that the casteist people of the Jat community did not vote for the BSP due to which the party candidates lost on some seats by a small margin of votes, although the BSP’s entire vote was transferred.”

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
