Thousands of demonstrators flooded the streets in all 50 states of the US on Saturday to oppose President Donald Trump’s administration and its policies. The protests were called ‘Hands Off’ protests.
This was the biggest demonstration since Trump assumed office on January 20 this year for his second term – with protests taking place at more than 1,200 locations across the nation.
More than 150 organizations, such as LGBTQ+ advocates, civil rights groups, labor unions, election activists, and veterans, took part in the protests.
All about ‘Hands off’ protests
The Hands Off protests consist of a series of demonstrations opposing Trump’s policies, including mass deportations of illegal immigrants, federal job cuts, and various other actions.
Demonstrators claim that Donald Trump and Elon Musk are utilizing resources that don’t belong to them, urging the world to respond. Among the issues they claimed to oppose are reducing government services, slashing healthcare programs, and restricting rights for transgender individuals.
The protesters voiced their opposition to the treatment of immigrants in the US and the widespread deportations.

In Seattle, demonstrators brandished placards with slogans such as “Fight the oligarchy” and expressed outrage towards the government’s decisions to dismiss federal employees and strip protections from at-risk communities.
Elon Musk, an advisor to President Trump and the head of the Department of Government Efficiency, has encountered criticism during his almost 3-month term in the administration for allegedly favoring corporate interests over those of American citizens.
In Atlanta, the demonstrators displayed signs that said “Impeach Trump, Deport Musk.”
In Boston, demonstrators displayed signs that said “Hands off our democracy” and “Hands off our Social Security” while opposing reductions to Social Security.
