The journey towards constructing the stadium has been in the works since 2018, with various deliberations and challenges. One significant hurdle involved the floor area ratio (FAR) component demanded by the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) from the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA), which initially exceeded the permissible limit.

The new cricket stadium, envisioned at a cost of ₹450 crore, is slated for completion by 2026.
