Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar pens down emotional post on Kohli-Rohit
Cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar wrote a heartfelt post on Indian stars Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, as the two bid adieu to T20I cricket after winning the 2024 T20 World Cup on June 29.
Sachin took to Instagram to pay tribute to India’s opening batting duo, recalling their illustrious careers, the path to maturity and excellence, and their eventual T20 World Cup victory.
After an 11-year trophy drought, Indian cricket supporters’ wishes came true with a stunning victory over South Africa to win their second T20 World Cup. Many former cricket greats and fans have already lauded the campaign as one of Rohit and Virat’s final chances for glory, bringing a fitting finale to their storied T20I careers.
While Rohit was crucial for India with the bat as they progressed from the Super 8 to the final against the Proteas, Kohli reserved his best for the big game. Kohli announced his retirement from the format during the post-match presentation, his long-time partner Rohit followed suit in the post-match press conference.

Sachin reflected on his personal experience of seeing Rohit and Virat mature and achieve greatness during their historic T20I careers in an Instagram post.

You may have had a rough time earlier in the tournament, but last night you proved why you’re truly one of the greats of the gentleman’s game. Competing in six World Cups and clinching victory in the last one is an experience I know well. I hope to see you continue winning matches for India in the longer formats of the game,” Sachin added.
