An eight-year-old girl in Andhra Pradesh’s Nandyal district was allegedly gangraped and murdered by three minor boys, according to the police. After the murder, the boys dumped her body in a canal to destroy evidence.
The victim was a Class 3 student, while two of the defendants, both aged 12, were in sixth grade. The third boy, 13, was in Class 7. Both the victim and the accused were claimed to attend the same school.
The incident occurred in Pagidyala on Sunday but was only made public on Wednesday after the culprits were apprehended.

Girl’s father had filed a missing complaint on Sunday
On Sunday, the minor girl’s father filed a missing person report, claiming that his daughter had vanished while playing in the park.
Despite thorough searches throughout Muchumarri Park and questioning of locals for leads, the police were unable to find the girl. They then dispatched a sniffer dog to help in the hunt.
The dog’s tips led the authorities to the homes of the three minor boys. After conducting an initial inquiry, the guys were apprehended.

Boys reportedly confessed to rape and murder upon questioning
During questioning, the boys allegedly admitted to raping and murdering the young girl.
According to the boys’ statement, they saw the girl playing near Muchumarri Park. They invited her to join them for a game, and she consented.
Boys took her to a secluded area, raped and killed her
They then took her to a remote spot near the Muchumarri irrigation project and assaulted her in turn. They planned to murder the girl because they were afraid of the consequences if she told her parents about the assault.
They eventually dumped her body in a nearby canal and fled the scene.
