N Chandrababu Naidu sworn in as Andhra Pradesh CM for the fourth time
On Wednesday, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo N Chandrababu Naidu took oath as Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister for the fourth time. Pawan Kalyan, the leader of the Jana Sena Party and a ‘Power Star’, was sworn in as a Cabinet Minister.
Chandrababu Naidu’s swearing-in as Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister marked an astonishing reversal; only months ago, he was in jail after being detained by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering investigation involving an alleged skill development fraud. Following his release on bail, Naidu led his TDP to a landslide victory in the state assembly elections, partnering with the BJP and Jana Sena.

Along with Pawan Kalyan, 23 others, including Chandrababu Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh, took oaths as ministers. The Jana Sena received three Cabinet positions, with Satya Kumar Yadav serving as the sole BJP representative in the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet. The Cabinet, which includes the Chief Minister, can have up to 26 members in the 175-member Assembly.

The TDP got 135 seats, Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena secured 21 seats, and the BJP won eight. The incumbent YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), led by Jagan Mohan Reddy, won just 11 seats.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Telugu Desam Legislature Party and its allies elected Naidu as their leader. Naidu told legislators that he is determined to constructing Amaravati as the state’s sole capital.
