Indian badminton pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are ready to come back to the badminton court at the BWF Super 750 China Masters 2024. The competition will be held at Shenzhen Arena in China from November 19 to 24.
The competition offers a reward of about Rs 9.66 crore, equivalent to USD 1,150,000. This tournament marks Satwik and Chirag’s return after their quarterfinal defeat at the Paris Olympics 2024.
Here are some challenges the Top Indian pair will face during the event:
Recovering from injury concerns
The duo has been getting ready for more than a month to return to competition after their Olympic letdown and small injury obstacles.
Having already secured two BWF titles this year, their goal is to clinch a third title, marking a memorable comeback and start to their campaign for the LA Olympics with a victory.

The pair will be without any coach
Satwik and Chirag face a significant obstacle as they are currently without a coach. The pair split from their Danish coach Mathias Boe in July following the Paris Olympics and have since been practicing on their own.
Even though the Badminton Association of India (BAI) has hired Kim Tan Her as the national doubles coach, the specific date for when he will start coaching the team is still unknown.

Redemption for the 2023 final loss
During the 2023 China Masters, Satwik and Chirag came close to winning the title but were defeated in the final by the top-ranked duo, Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang. This year, the pair is aiming for a redemption but it will not be a cakewalk for India’s No 1 duo, especially without a coach’s support during matches.
