Gates stated that while Epstein never successfully blackmailed him, he strongly believes Epstein contemplated doing so. He pointed to a 2013 email draft authored by Epstein that referenced Gates’ personal indiscretions and involved his former employee Boris Nikolic.

Gates described his association with Epstein as a mistake and denied any involvement in Epstein’s criminal activities. He said the two met around 12 to 14 times and had two video calls over a four-year period, primarily discussing philanthropy and potential wealthy donors — connections that never materialized.
The Lawmakers questioned Gates about documents suggesting he had worried about contracting a sexually transmitted infection after an affair. He strongly rejected the claims.
