Gautam Buddh Nagar Police announced the district-wide execution of restrictions under CrPC Section 144, which forbids illegal public gatherings, ahead of the Bharat Bandh scheduled by farmers’ unions on Friday.
In addition, they informed residents to think about using the metro train service whenever possible to save annoyance and warned commuters traveling to and from Delhi about possible traffic diversions in Noida.
According to the police, these actions were taken ahead of protest marches that were planned by various unions and the farmers’ collective Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM).
Prior to this, on February 16, the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), an SKM constituent, proposed a Bharat Bandh to draw attention to a number of unresolved farmer problems.
