The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) declared an impressive prize money of Rs 58 crore for the Indian team that won the Champions Trophy 2025 title.
On March 9, Rohit Sharma’s team claimed the trophy by defeating Mitchell Santner’s New Zealand in the final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. This marked India’s third championship title following their victories in 2002 and 2013.
Roger Binny, the President of the BCCI, remarked, “Securing consecutive ICC titles is remarkable, and this accolade acknowledges Team India’s commitment and exceptional performance internationally. The monetary prize acknowledges the effort that each person contributes behind the scenes. This marked our second ICC Trophy in 2025, coming after the victory in the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup, emphasizing the robust cricketing framework established in our country.”
Rajeev Shukla, the vice-president of BCCI, stated, “This cash reward honors the remarkable performances exhibited by the team during the entire tournament. The players displayed impressive calmness in high-pressure situations, and their achievements serve as motivation for budding cricketers nationwide. The team has once more demonstrated that Indian cricket is founded on a solid base of skill, resilience, and a winning mindset.”
INDIA’S CHAMPIONS TROPHY CAMPAIGN
India begain their campaign with a six-wicket victory against Bangladesh after Shubman Gill scored his eighth ODI century.

Subsequently, India defeated arch rivals Pakistan by six wickets in Dubai, achieving two wins out of two in the group stage. Virat Kohli’s 51st ODI century enabled India to successfully pursue 242. New Zealand’s victory against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi ensured India’s qualification for the semi-finals.
In the semi-final, Virat Kohli made 84 runs as India defeated Australia by four wickets, advancing to the Champions Trophy final for the third consecutive time after 2013 and 2017.
In the final, India faced a tough situation, but Rohit Sharma rose to the occasion as captain, making 76 runs and guiding India to a four-wicket victory over the Kiwis.
Shreyas Iyer was the top performer for India in the tournament, scoring 243 runs across five matches with an average of 79.41. Mohammed Shami and Chakravarthy were the joint-leading wicket-takers for India in the tournament, each claiming nine wickets.
