India claim victory vs Bangladesh in first T20I; Arshdeep Singh, Varun and Hardik Pandya shine

The first of the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh was held yesterday, October 6, at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior. Team India defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets.

India chose to field first against Bangladesh after winning the toss. Bangladesh could only manage 128 runs in their innings. The batters had a tough time making a difference and scoring points.

Parvez Hossain Emom and Liton Das were both sent back by India’s Arshdeep Singh after scoring eight and four runs, respectively. Only Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mehidy Hasan Miraz made substantial contributions with scores of 27 off 25 balls and 35 off 32 balls, respectively.

Arshdeep Singh was the star of the match

Arshdeep Singh, the talented pace bowler from India, continued his impressive form in the T20Is against Bangladesh on Sunday, October 06, earning the Player of the Match award once again. The left-arm bowler took 3 wickets for 14 runs in 3.5 overs, playing a key role in dismissing Bangladesh for 127 in 19.5 overs.

Arshdeep Singh started off the innings in grand fashion by dismissing Litton Das (4 off 2) in the first over itself, who mistimed a big hit and got caught near the pitch. He further thrashed the stumps of Parvez Hossain Emon in his next over and later dismissed Mustafizur Rahman in the last over to finish with figures of 3/14.

About Arshdeep Singh

ARSHDEEP SINGH

Arshdeep Singh made his India debut in July 2022 in a Twenty20 International against England. He bowled a maiden over on debut, becoming just the third Indian bowler to do so on their T20I debut.

Following his T20I debut in England, Arshdeep secured seven wickets across five matches against West Indies, earning him a spot in the 2022 T20 Asia Cup. He was the second highest wicket-taker in the tournament, after Bhuvneshwar Kumar. He performed even more impressively during the T20 World Cup later that same year, finishing as India’s leading wicket-taker.

During his initial ODI series versus New Zealand in 2022, he failed to take any wickets, however, he achieved his first five-wicket haul internationally against South Africa in 2023, playing a crucial role in India’s victory in the series by taking ten wickets with an impressive economy rate of 3.51.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
