Batting legend Virat Kohli smashed yet another T20 half-century on Sunday to lead Royal Challengers Bengaluru to nine wicket win over Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025. On way to his knock, Virat became the first Indian and second overall to smash 100 half-centuries in T20 cricket.

Kohli began the innings for the Rajat Patidar-led side in the 174-run pursuit against Sanju Samson’s squad and surpassed the 50-run landmark by smashing a six on the third delivery of the 15th over of RCB innings.
David Warner, the former Australian opening batsman, became the first cricketer to achieve 100 half-centuries in T20 matches.
The half-century on Sunday against RR marks Kohli’s 58th fifty in the IPL and his overall 66th score of 50 or more in the world’s most lucrative franchise cricket league.
He has now equaled Warner’s record for the highest number of 50+ scores in the IPL. In his IPL career, the ex-Australian batsman smashed four centuries and 62 fifties across 184 games for Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Conversely, Kohli boasts 8 centuries and 58 half-centuries in 258 IPL games.

Kohli participated in 125 T20Is for India throughout his 14-year T20I career and accumulated 4188 runs. He scored one century and 38 fifties for the Men in Blue.
He announced his retirement from T20Is on June 29, 2024, after making 76 runs off 59 balls for the Rohit Sharma-led team in the T20 World Cup 2024 final against South Africa at Kensington Oval in Barbados.
