Sapna Devi, who eloped with her future son-in-law has returned home in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, where the couple will stay together.

Devi’s daughter Shivani was set to get married to Rahul on April 16. Invitation cards were printed, and arrangements were in full swing at their residences. However, only a week prior to the wedding on April 8, Devi vanished from her residence with money and jewelry. Simultaneously, Rahul became untraceable as well.

Sapna Devi’s husband had filed a missing person’s complaint

The situation came to light last week after Devi’s husband, Jitendra Kumar, submitted a report about her being missing.

Upon their return, the Aligarh police counselled the couple for 12 consecutive hours during which Devi spoke with her husband and family, officials reported. Nonetheless, since she was resolute on her decision to be with Rahul, the police allowed her to leave.

Sapna Devi alleged that she was being mentally tortured by her husband and daughter, and so, she won’t return  back home and stay with them.

Rahul stated that he had saved Sapna Devi’s life and they both have decided to stay together.

Sapna had taken Rs 3.5 lakh cash and jewelry worth 5 lakh with her

Devi, when she eloped with Rahul, took more than Rs 3.5 lakh and jewelry valued at over Rs 5 lakh from the house, her daughter mentioned.

Devi’s daughter also mentioned that she was going to get married to Rahul on April 16, however, her mother eloped with him the following Sunday.

“I was supposed to wed Rahul on April 16, and my mother ran away with him on Sunday. Rahul and my mom frequently talked over the phone during the last three to four months. We stored Rs 3.5 lakh in cash in the almirah and possessions worth more than Rs 5 lakh in jewelry. She has done everything he asked her to. She hasn’t left even Rs 10 behind. My mother has taken all of our money. She can do whatever she likes now; we don’t care. All we desire is the return of the money and jewelry to us,” she stated.

Conversely, Devi’s husband, who runs a business in Bengaluru, asserted that he will prevent his wife and Rahul from leaving until she returns all the money and jewelry.

Previously, Jitendra mentioned that he had overheard Devi speaking to Rahul for a long time, but chose to remain silent as the wedding was set to happen shortly.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
