Six convicts of 1992 Ajmer sex scandal get life imprisonment
A POCSO court has sentenced six accused in the sensational Ajmer sex scandal of the early 1990s to life imprisonment.
Judge Ranjan Singh of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) also imposed fines of Rs 5 lakh on each of the accused.

Nafees Chishti, Naseem alias Tarzan, Salim Chishti, Iqbal Bhati, Sohail Gani and Sayed Zameer Hussain were convicted for their involvement in the crime, said prosecutor Virendra Singh. Bhati was brought to Ajmer from Delhi in an ambulance.
In 1992, the Ajmer sex scandal came to light.
More than 100 girls were victim of the scandal
More than 100 girls were victims of a gang whose members befriended them, photographed them in compromising situations and then raped them.
Although 18 people were accused in the case, these six accused were tried separately. The other accused served their sentences or were acquitted by the court.
The girls, aged between 11 and 20, studied at a well-known private school in Ajmer. They were called to a farm, where they were raped.
