Passenger bus from India crashes into Marsyangdi river in Nepal’s Tanahun district
On Friday, a passenger bus from India crashed into the Marsyangdi river in Nepal’s Tanahun district, resulting in the death of 14 individuals and injuring 16 others. The bus, with 40 Indian passengers, was traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu.
DSP Deepkumar Raya of Tanahun district mentioned that the bus, with registration plate UP (Uttar Pradesh) FT 7623, fell into the river. The incident occurred at Aaina Pahara in Tanahun district.
A group of 45 police officers under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Madhav Paudel from the Armed Police Force Nepal Disaster Management Training School has arrived at the scene of the accident and is conducting rescue missions.
The Indian travelers were lodging at Majheri Resort in Pokhara. The bus departed from Pokhara for Kathmandu on Friday morning.

The Relief Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh mentioned that they were making efforts to reach out to determine if any individual from the state was on the bus, according to ANI.
The landscape and rivers in Nepal put the mountainous country at high risk for disasters.
In the previous month, a landslide caused two buses, with approximately 65 passengers, to plunge into the Trishuli River in Nepal. It was assumed that more than 50 individuals, including seven Indian nationals, had lost their lives in the tragedy.
The incident took place on the Madan-Ashrit Highway in central Nepal during a heavy downpour. One of the buses was traveling from Kathmandu to Gaur in Rautahat. The second person was traveling to Kathmandu from Birgunj.
