Iskcon India responded on Wednesday to Bangladesh government’s petition requesting a ban on the Hindu organization following protests over Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari’s arrest.
The organization stated that the issue had escalated and was waiting for incoming US President Donald Trump, who has denounced violence against Hindus in Bangladesh, to come back to the White House in January 2025.
The situation has spiraled out of control and is no longer within our grasp. We will hold off until January 20, when Trump assumes the presidency. Radharamn Das, Vice President and spokesperson of Iskcon India, expressed his optimism for improvement in the future when speaking to India Today TV.
Prior to his victory in the US Presidential election on November 5, Trump criticized the “barbaric violence” targeting Hindus in Bangladesh and criticized his Democratic opponents Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden for neglecting Hindus.

The newly elected President stated that the anti-Hindu violence in Bangladesh, triggered by a student protest against a controversial quota system that grew into a large anti-government demonstration leading to the removal of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, would not have occurred during his presidency.
Continuing his discussion with India Today, Radharamn Das stated that Iskcon caters to all individuals regardless of their religion or caste.
“During the flooding in Bangladesh, we assisted numerous people. We were asked why we were doing it, but still went ahead and did it. Iskcon has provided food for eight billion people globally. Are we really being labeled as a religious extremist group?,” he said.
